In transit via Airboat to Prayagraj from Varanasi

An Airboat service is likely to begin to Prayagraj on 26th January 2019 for Kumbh Mela. According to sources, the airboat services will help the tourists and visitors and localities to travel across two cities.

The airboat is an essential mode of transportation via water that is powered by an aircraft’s engine. In the year 2017, the ministers promised to ease the passage for tourists and travellers to commute from Varanasi to Prayagraj before the Kumbh Mela 2019. On 15th January 2019, the world-famous Kumbh Mela will start at Prayagraj. It is considered the world’s sizeable spiritual gathering.

According to Gadkari, Ministry of Shipping and Water Resources said the airboat is the outcome of the Russian Government Technology. The airboat can carry 16 people at one time. In the journey, the airboat can sail up to 80 Km per hour and need a depth of 10cm to float.

To support tourism at the time of Kumbh Mela that starts from 15th January, Narendra Modi had planned with his government officials to use waterways as a medium to move between Varanasi and Allahabad, a distance that is of 60 km. The government has designed for four floating terminals one at Kila Ghat, Saraswati ghat, Naini Bridge, SujawanGhat. Besides, there will be two small boats provided from CL Kasturba and SL Kamla for movement to the pilgrimage. A 1680km waterway of transport will connect from Prayagraj to Haldia. The Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) is organizing services near the Sangam ghat as well.

Besides that, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highway proposed that the Uttar Pradesh government has vowed to give the passengers a hassle-free travel experience that will have a new platform, foot over bridge, skywalks. The Indian Railways is set to launch a Rail Kumbh Seva Mobile App to provide necessary information to the passengers who are participating in the event. According to some ministers, several local body officials can use bio fuels for vehicles to lead as an example for the rest.
