The government of India is all set to organise its 15th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) whose contribution can be felt from the overseas Indian Community. The PBD is celebrated on 9th January by the Republic of India.
The Pravasi Bharatiya Divas or PWD was first initiated in the year 2000 and was organised by the Ministry of External Affairs with the alliance to the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), the Confederation of Indian Industries and Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region.
The purpose of this event is to have a platform to interact with the government as well as a forum to solve issues relating to Indian Diaspora. The PBD is celebrated every year from January 9-11. The event will be observed from January 21-23 in the Cultural Capital of India, Varanasi in 2019.
The agenda of the three-day programme includes a detailed discussion about Development of Cyber Capacity in India, Opportunities and Challenges for India, Indian community working for Indian Nationals, the role of Indian Diaspora in the capacity to build Artificial Intelligence in India, affordable Waste Management, affordable solar panels etc.
The three days event of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, Youth Bharatiya Divas will be celebrated on day 1 with the presence of Mr Himanshu Gulati and Mr. kanwaljit Singh Bakshi who are the members of Parliament of Norway and New Zealand respectively.
Lunch will be hosted by Shri Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Minister of Youth Affairs. There will be an interactive session with students of BHU as well as cultural event showing the music and dance of Uttar Pradesh. At the end of day one programme, the dinner will be hosted jointly by CM Shri Yogi Adityanath and Chetan Chouhan, Minister of State for Sports and Youth Welfare. January 22nd will be the inaugural of 15th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention 2019. The inauguration will be addressed by Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj and CM of Uttar Pradesh Shri Yogi Adityanath.
There will be book release of Mauritius professor, Reshmi Ramdhony and a quiz competition “ Bharat Ki Janice” will be held PM Narendra Modi would address that and a vote of thanks will be delivered by VK Singh, Minister of External Affairs and a dinner to be hosted by Sushma Swaraj. On day 3, Farewell session and award ceremony will be addressed by Hon’ble President Shri Ram Nath Kovind and Sushma Swaraj, Shri Yogi Adityanath will give their feedback over the event. Dinner will be hosted by President of Indian Council of Cultural Relations, Dr Vinay Sahasrabuddhe.
